Toronto Dance Theatre’s latest piece, Rivers, combines the music of a beloved Canadian composer with a bold interpretation from one of Canada’s most respected dance artists. This innovative performance will captivate audiences when it comes to the Fredericton Playhouse on Wednesday, January 29 at 7:30 p.m.
“Rivers” is the beloved masterpiece of the late composer Ann Southam. In collaboration with Toronto Dance Theatre’s 10 dancers, Artistic Director Christopher House has created a fluid and unpredictable counterpoint to the sublime music, reflecting the rushing cascades, luxuriant eddies and quiet islands of calm in the score.
Adding to the creative nature of the piece, “Rivers” will be performed live by one of Canada’s foremost pianists, Christina Petrowska Quilico, widely recognized as an innovative and adventurous artist who brilliantly interprets contemporary classical music.
